History

Bourofaye Christian School, founded in 1980, was originally situated about 10 kms from Ziguinchor, the regional capital of the Casamance in the south of Senegal. At that time, most of the students were full boarders.

In August 1997, the school conducted a controlled evacuation because of the unrest in the region and a temporary site was found in the village of Keur Massar,  20 kms from the capital, Dakar.

In October 2002, the school moved to its present site at Kiniabour, 70 kms southeast of Dakar and just 10 minutes from the beach at Popenguine. This rural site is reasonably close to the shops in Thies & M'bour, while also being just 25 minutes away from the popular resort of Saly.

Since moving to Kiniabour, the school has steadily grown, with more and more weekly and day students.
